Do 'compostable' diapers actually compost in real life?

Some brands claim compostable. My city doesn't have industrial composting. What's actually happening to my 'compostable' diaper?

Honest answer: 'compostable' diaper claims apply only under ASTM D5511 industrial composting conditions (180°F+, controlled humidity). In landfill anaerobic conditions, the breakdown is minimal. DYPER's REDYPER program is the only US-scale take-back to actual industrial composting.
